For you Huckleberry Fans the Rocky Mountain huckleberry is considered  the most popular broad-leaf shrub in Sanders County in Trout Creek that's just 25 miles from Thompson Falls, it's considered the "Huckleberry Capital of Montana ''. Wild Huckleberry picking starts begins usually in late July as fruit ripens. There's an annual Huckleberry Festival in Trout Creek the second weekend of August 11-13, 2023.
